Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Eleftheria Ventures L.L.C-FZ, a company registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). They apply to the CaptionsHero website, web app, and API (the “Service”).

If you use the Service, you accept these terms. If you use it for a company or other organization, you accept these terms for that organization, and you confirm that you have the authority to do so.

CaptionsHero is a tool to upload videos, create and edit subtitles, transcribe and translate them with AI, and manage review work in a team. We can change, add, or remove any feature, plan, or limit at any time, and we can stop the Service. We do not promise that any feature will stay available.

• You must be 16 or older to use the Service.
• Give true and current information when you sign up.
• Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for all activity in your account.
• Each account is for one person. Do not share an account. To work with other people, invite them to your organization.
• Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to your account.

Work in CaptionsHero happens in organizations. The owners of an organization control its members, plan, billing, and content. Owners are responsible for the people they invite.

A seat is one member or one pending invitation. Your plan sets the number of seats.

• Solo is free. Paid plans are billed in USD, monthly or yearly, in advance. Stripe processes all payments.
• There is no free trial. We charge a paid plan on the day you start it.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid term.
• Upgrades start immediately, and Stripe charges the prorated difference. Downgrades and changes between monthly and yearly billing start at the next renewal.
• Prices do not include taxes. You pay any taxes that apply.
• We can change prices at any time. A new price applies to your plan from your next renewal.
• If a payment fails, Stripe tries again. If all attempts fail, a team organization becomes read-only: members can view and export, but cannot edit, upload, or order AI jobs. A personal organization goes back to the Solo plan. We can also suspend or close an organization that does not pay.

All payments are final and not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. This includes unused time, unused AI minutes, downgrades, and accounts that we suspend or close. The free Solo plan lets you try CaptionsHero before you pay. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid term, and we do not charge you again.

• Each plan includes AI minutes. A transcription uses minutes equal to the full length of the video. A translation uses half the length of the video for each target language.
• The Solo plan gives 20 AI minutes one time per account. Paid plans give a new allowance each month. Unused minutes do not carry over and have no cash value. We can change AI minute and storage limits at any time.
• Each plan has a storage limit. If you go above it, for example after a downgrade, you cannot upload new videos.

You keep all rights to the videos, audio, subtitles, and other content you upload or create (“Your Content”). This includes transcripts and translations that the AI makes for you.

You give us a limited license to store, copy, process, and show Your Content only to operate the Service for you. This includes sending it to the service providers in our Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and our AI providers do not either. We do not sell Your Content.

You confirm that you have the rights to upload Your Content and to let us process it. Do not upload content that you do not have the right to use.

Transcriptions and translations are made by machines and can contain errors. Review AI output before you publish or deliver it. You are responsible for the final subtitles you deliver.

Do not use the Service to:

• break the law or infringe the rights of other people;
• upload content that sexually exploits or abuses children, or any sexual content of a person without their consent;
• upload content that infringes copyright or other rights, such as films, shows, or broadcasts that you have no right to use;
• upload content that promotes terrorism, violence, or hate, or that is illegal in any other way;
• upload malware or attack the Service or its users;
• get access to accounts, organizations, or data that are not yours;
• reverse engineer the Service, scrape it, or go around its limits, except where the law allows it;
• resell the Service, or make fake accounts to get more free AI minutes.

Content in CaptionsHero is private to its organization. We are not required to review it, but we can remove content or block access to it if we think it breaks these terms or the law. We can also suspend or close the account and organization involved.

We cooperate with law enforcement when the law requires it. Send legal requests and complaints about content to support@captionshero.com.

Plans that include the REST API can use it through API keys. Keep your keys secret and obey the rate limits. We can change the API, its limits, or revoke any key at any time.

We own the Service, its software, design, and the CaptionsHero name and logo. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service. They do not give you any other rights.

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them without payment or any obligation to you.

The Service uses other companies for hosting, payments, email, transcription, and translation. Their failures or changes can affect the Service. We are not responsible for services that third parties control.

You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. Deletion is permanent. It also deletes each organization that you are the only owner of. Export your content first.

We can suspend or close any account or organization at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. This includes accounts that break these terms, do not pay, or put the Service or other users at risk. After we close an account or organization, we can delete its content. We are not required to keep or return any content.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service is always available, free of errors, or that AI output is correct. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of Your Content. We are not responsible for lost or damaged content.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. If you use the Service for free, our total liability is zero. You must bring any claim within one year after it arises, or you lose it.

You agree to defend and compensate us, our owners, employees, and contractors for all claims, losses, damages, and costs, including legal fees, that come from Your Content, your use of the Service, the members of your organization, or your breach of these terms or the law.

The laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates govern these terms. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about these terms or the Service.

We can change these terms at any time. Changes start when we post them on this page, and we update the date at the top. If you continue to use the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.

• We can transfer these terms and your account to another company, for example after a sale or merger. You cannot transfer them without our written permission.
• We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our control, such as outages at our providers, network failures, attacks, natural disasters, or government action.
• We can name your organization as a customer in our marketing. Email us to ask us to stop.
• If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we keep the right to enforce it later. If a court finds a part of these terms invalid, the other parts stay in effect.
• These terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about the Service.
