In short
Assign, review, approve
Matesub shares one language with a link. CaptionsHero assigns an editor and a reviewer to each language. Reviewers comment on exact lines, request changes, and approve.
No share links
A Matesub share link opens the editor for anyone who holds it. CaptionsHero has no share links. Only members of your organization open your videos.
Progress in one place
A dashboard shows every project and language with its status. Matesub's public pages do not describe a status view across projects and languages.

Why teams move from Matesub
Review is a step, not a link
Each language has a named editor and a named reviewer. Work moves to the reviewer, and the reviewer approves it.
Your videos stay inside your team
There are no public pages and no share links. A person needs a seat in your organization to open a project.
Handoffs you can see
Email notifications tell people when a step is theirs. A dashboard shows who holds each language.
No more final_v3_REVIEWED.srt.
Stop passing files around. Edit, review, and approve in one place.

Matesub Team is cheaper for a large team, because editors are unlimited. But it shares projects by link and does not describe an assign, review, and approve workflow. CaptionsHero includes it, with email notifications, AI minutes for transcription and translation, a REST API, and Cloudflare Stream and YouTube integration.
