  • A translator wants the script as plain text, without times.
  • You want to check the spelling of your subtitles in a word processor.
  • You want to read the story of a show without the timing codes.

Common questions

How do I convert an SRT file to text?

Drop the SRT file into the tool and click Download. The TXT file holds only the spoken words.

How do I get clean text with no time codes?

The tool removes the numbers and the times. It also removes tags such as <i> and {\an8}. Choose One subtitle per line to join a two-line subtitle into one line.

Can I make a TXT file without installing a program?

Yes. The conversion runs in your browser, so you install nothing and need no account.

Can I get a transcript with speaker names?

Only if the names are in the subtitle text. The tool does not add names or remove them.

Does the TXT file keep paragraphs?

No. A subtitle file has no paragraphs, so by default each subtitle becomes one line. Group the lines in your word processor.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The tool runs in your browser. Your subtitle file never leaves your computer.
