Common questions
How do I keep subtitles in sync after I cut a video?
Add the subtitle file here and mark the part that you removed from the video. Download the new file and use it with the cut video.
What if my video editor lost the subtitles in the cut?
Start from the subtitle file that you had before the cut. If the subtitles are only inside an MKV or MP4 file, extract them as an SRT file first. Then add that file here.
Can I trim subtitles with FFmpeg?
Yes, if you cut the video and the subtitles in the same FFmpeg command. If the video is already cut, it is easier to fix the subtitle file here.
Can I cut more than one part?
Yes. Cut one part, download the file, and add it again for the next part. Start with the part nearest the end of the video. Then the times of the earlier parts do not change.
Do I need this tool after I crop a video?
No. Cropping changes the picture, not the time, so the subtitles stay in sync. Use this tool only when you remove time from the video.
Does it work with VTT files?
Yes. You get the same format back, with the same file name. VTT styles, notes, and cue settings stay in the file.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The tool runs in your browser. Your subtitle file never leaves your computer.
