How do I find double words in an SRT file?

Does the tool remove the repeated words?
No. Some repeats are correct, for example very very or no no no. You decide which ones to fix in your editor.
Does it find a repeat across two lines of one subtitle?
Yes. A word at the end of line one and the same word at the start of line two counts as a repeat.
Does it find a repeat across two subtitles?
Not for words. It checks the words inside each subtitle. It does list a subtitle whose whole text repeats the subtitle before it.
Why is a repeat with a comma not in the list?
A comma or a full stop between two words means that the speaker paused. No, no is a normal phrase. The tool lists only words with spaces or a line break between them.
Why do I see two subtitles on the screen at the same time?
The times of two cues overlap. That is a timing problem, not a repeated word. Use the SRT validator to find the cues and the Subtitle fixer to repair them.
