How to merge subtitle lines into sentences
Add your file
Choose the SRT or VTT file in which sentences break across subtitles.
Preview the merges
Enter the Maximum characters per line and the Maximum gap, then click Preview merges. The list shows each new subtitle with its time.

Read the list. If it looks right, click Download. If not, change the limit and preview again.

How can I merge multiple subtitles into one subtitle?
Add the file and click Preview merges. Each subtitle that does not end a sentence joins the next subtitle, as long as the text fits on two lines.
How does the tool know that a sentence continues?
A subtitle continues when its text does not end with a period, a question mark, an exclamation mark, an ellipsis, or a closing quote. Tags such as </i> at the end do not count.
Can I merge two subtitle files with this tool?
No. This tool joins lines inside one file. To join two files, use the merge SRT files tool.
Will a merged subtitle fit on the screen?
Yes. Two subtitles merge only if the text fits on two lines of the length that you set. Long text is then split into two lines of similar length.
What happens to the timing of a merged subtitle?
It starts when the first subtitle starts and ends when the last one ends. The pause between them is gone. All other subtitles keep their times.
Is my file uploaded?
